Plant Trees

Committed Art:

The creation of the Socotra Dragon Blood Tree Association
The Socotra Dragon Blood Tree association was created out of a deep-seated need: to link artistic creation with concrete action in the field. For a long time, our projects have explored natural landscapes and the connection between humans and living things. But faced with the ecological emergency, we felt the need to go beyond representation and make our work part of a dynamic that has a real impact.

Founded in 2022, the association works to preserve the natural heritage of the island of Socotra, a territory of exceptional biodiversity and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. The dragon tree, the archipelago's emblematic tree, embodies this threatened beauty. Through reforestation and support for local communities, the association develops concrete projects that combine ecology, transmission, and collective responsibility.

The creation of Socotra Dragon Blood Tree is a natural extension of our artistic approach. It reflects our belief that art can be a driving force for engagement and that, whenever possible, it should actively contribute to the protection of life.

Our studio and our works thus become spaces for raising awareness, but also levers for action.

With this in mind, we have chosen to donate a portion of the profits generated by our creations to the association. This gesture places our artistic activity within a solidarity-based economy, where the production of works directly supports environmental initiatives in the field.

Through this link between creation and action, we fully embrace the notion of socially engaged art: art that does not merely amaze, but chooses to contribute, in concrete terms, to transforming reality.

Art committed to reforestation

For a long time now, we have been convinced that we only truly protect what touches us, what amazes us, what connects us.

Through art, we seek to restore living things to their rightful place in our imaginations. To rekindle our attention, to inspire attachment, to awaken the desire to preserve.

But in the face of the ecological emergency, wonder alone is not enough.
We must also take action.

It was with this in mind that the Socotra Dragon Blood Tree Association was founded in 2021.

Listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, Socotra is home to exceptional biodiversity. The dragon tree (Dracaena cinnabari) is its living symbol, but this thousand-year-old tree, the emblem of the island, is now under threat.

That is why the association was created: to work alongside local communities to help preserve and regenerate this unique ecosystem. Replanting, protecting young shoots, supporting local initiatives, raising awareness, passing on knowledge... our commitment is both practical and human.

With Socotra Dragon Blood Tree, we wanted to build a bridge:

Transform emotion into action,

wonder into responsibility,

poetry into protective action.

Because preserving the Socotra dragon tree means preserving much more than just a tree: it means defending a vision of the world.

A portion of the profits from the distribution of our works is donated to our association, Socotra Dragon Blood Tree, which is committed to reforestation and the preservation of the Socotra dragon tree and its ecosystem.
